The End for the Wyoming County Free Press
Regretfully, we've decided to close down the Wyoming County Free Press. We're sorry it's come to this, but this venture was starting to prove too costly.
We thank our readers.
The past 18 months or so have been a struggle. We haven't been able to find a reliable sales rep so there was no way to grow the business. We've explored lots of options to try and overcome this difficulty, but nothing came together.
Julia Ferrini has done an outstanding job as our community editor. Her fans among our readers will be happy to know she will continue covering news locally. She's taken a job with the Country Courier. We're happy for her. She worked hard and stuck with this project even as she knew growth had become a struggle. That kind of loyalty is hard to find these days.
Thank you to all of the advertisers who supported the Wyoming County Free Press.
Thank you to all of the community leaders, those in and out of government, in the fire services and in law enforcement who supported our journalistic efforts and helped make them easier.
