Law and Order: Arcade man charged with theft of electric services
Adam J. Paquet, 34, of Arcade, was charged July 5 with theft of services from the Village of Arcade. Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies say the Village of Arcade had disconnected the electrical power to the home of Paquet for non-payment. He is accused of breaking into the power meter and returning power to his home without permission. He is due in the Village of Arcade Court Aug. 3.
Wade M. Westfall, 32, of Arcade, was charged July 3 with driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree. Westfall was stopped on Lower Street in the Town of Rushford for an alleged expired registration. During the stop, New York State Troopers say an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The suspect was given standard field sobriety testing, which officers say he failed. Additionally, he is accused of driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the State Police barracks in Fillmore where he allegedly blew a BAC of .08 percent. He was arraigned in the Town of Rushford Court and put in Allegany County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due in the Town of Rushford Court Aug. 7.
Dayton Ewell, 22, of Bliss, was charged July 5 with: driving while impaired by drugs; driving while impaired by a combination of drugs; aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree; uninspected motor vehicle; speed above 55 mph;and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Ewell was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 362 in the Town of Eagle. He is accused of driving 76 in a 55-mph zone. During the stop, deputies say his driver’s license was found to be suspended twice. Additionally, he was given field sobriety testing, which he allegedly failed, and was subsequently arrested. A Wyoming County drug recognition expert determined Ewell was impaired by two types of drugs. He was arraigned in the Town of Eagle Court and jailed on $1,000 bail. He is due in court July 17.
Bryan Beach, 33, of Perry, was charged July 6 with: criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument; criminal use of drug paraphernalia; unlawful possession of marijuana; aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree; and speed above 55 mph. Beach was stopped on Simmons Road, Perry, for allegedly driving 83 in a 55-mph zone. During the stop, Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies say his license was found to be suspended six times. A search of his vehicle was subsequently performed and deputies say drugs and paraphernalia were found. He was arraigned in the Town of Perry Court and put in Wyoming County Jail on $2,500 bail. He is due in court July 13.
