Thunderstorms roll through Wyoming County

A special weather statement has been issued by the National Weather Service until 9:45 a.m.:

Slow moving thunderstorms are moving across northern Wyoming, and central Livingston and Genesee counties.

At 9 a.m., radar indicated slow-moving thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Oakfield to Mount Morris, northeast at 25 mph.

Areas impacted include Letchworth and Darien Lakes state parks, Perry, Warsaw, Bennington, Batavia, Geneseo, Avon, and Mount Morris.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may cause localized flooding. While most areas will receive at least a half-inch of rain, some spots will get nearly two inches of rain in less than an hour's time.
