Reminders of how the new Dining Deals program works:

  • To make purchases, you must be registered. This is its own registration system, separate from the main registration for Wyoming County Free Press.
  • Once registered you must be logged in.
  • You click on the orange button, if the item is not sold out, and it takes you to a PayPal button. This allows you to pay either with your PayPal account or with a credit card/debit card. The login for PayPal is completely separate from our accounts.
  • The first person to successfully complete the PayPal transaction wins the gift certificate.
  • You are eligible to buy the same item only once in a two-month period. We use the registration system to track this for you so you don't have to.

We haven't posted Dining Deals in a long time. The reason is simple: the process of managing this program, along with everything else we've got going was a bit of work. We got out of the habit. But one of the goals for my business is to improve our technology, which means I'm going back to writing code like I did a dozen years ago. The first thing I did was build a program to handle Deal of the Day for The Batavian and Dining Deals for the Wyoming County Free Press.

This program requires that you register. This helps us manage things better, avoids duplicate purchases and makes it easier to handle getting the deals mailed out to the people who win them.

Use the link below to register and then come back to login and then you can quickly make your purchase through PayPal (Note: our registration and PayPal's registration are completely separate).

We recommend you register now so you can more quicly make a purchase when you see a deal you like.

It's possible there are still bugs in the system, so if you have problems, email:  howard@thebatavian.com.

UPDATE: All items from the first post are sold out. It will be a day or two before we post again, but we are leaving this post up so you can still go ahead and get registered so you'll be ready when new items are posted.
